Sponsorships
There was an array of well-known stars including cast members of Love Island, The Only Way is Essex, Made in Chelsea, Big Brother, Celebrity Big Brother in attendance, as well as contestants from Britain’s Got Talent and The X Factor.
Some of the big winners of the night were Susanna Reid who took home the awards for Best TV Presenter and Celebrity Personality Of The Year. Good Morning Britain, of which Susanna is a presenter, was also named Best Talk Show.
The show of the summer, Love Island, won Best Entertainment and Best Reality Competition, whilst on-off couple Charlotte Crosby and Stephen Bear took home three awards between them. Charlotte won Reality Personality of the Year, Stephen bagged the award for Best Male Personality of the Year and the show they both present, Just Tattoo Of Us, won Best Social Experiment Show.
The National Reality Television Awards was launched in the United Kingdom in 2011 with the first event taking place at London’s O2. It is the world’s first and largest reality TV awards ceremony and it takes place annually in over three territories including Europe, North America and South America.
Millions of reality TV fans nominate and vote for their favourite shows each year and over 20 million viewers worldwide tune in to see who has taken home the gongs.
With impressive stats like this, who are the clever companies that have got in on the action and sponsored the event and the award categories?
This year, the event was sponsored by Secret Veneers, Skinny Caffe, Lash Perfect, Beverly Hills Formula, Hungry Nation, DeChavel Watches, St. Moriz, and Bio-Synergy (just to name a few!). With everything from teeth products to health and nutrition, to eyelashes, and tanning products, the sponsors and the awards marry up perfectly to the host of reality and TV stars who attend the event.
Secret Veneers sponsored this year’s Best Performance (on a Reality TV Show) category with nominees from The Voice UK, The Voice Kids, Britain’s Got Talent, and Dance Dance Dance fighting it out for the top slot.
The Skinny Caffe chose to sponsor the Best Social Experiment Show category which saw Love Island pitted again Big Brother, Geordie Shore and Just Tattoo Of Us, to name a few.
Bio-Synergy sponsored Best Reality Competition Show and Beverly Hills Formula sponsored the Best Reality Non-Competition Show category. Whereas DeChavel Watches chose to sponsor two categories, Best TV Presenter and Best Male Personality whilst St. Moriz sponsored Best Entertainment Show, and Hungary Nation sponsored the Best Food Show category.
Other companies to get in on the act were ONE Condoms who cleverly sponsored the Best Dating Show 2017 category, Chelsea Monthly sponsored Best Business Show, Sebamed sponsored the Best Reality Non-Competition Show category, and VooVix.com sponsored Best International Show.
When sponsoring an event, the key is to ensure your brand marries up to what you are sponsoring. As we have seen in recent months with the likes of McDonald's and the Olympics and Ladbrokes and the FA, there is no room for a mismatch of brand personalities.
